Before Freddie Mercury changed his name he was known as Farrokh Bulsara. He was born on September 5, 1946, in Zanzibar, Tanzania. He went to St. Peter’s boarding school in India. While he was studying at St. Peter’s, his teachers noticed and began to support his love of music and the piano. When Freddie was at the age of 12, he joined his first band, the Hectics. Although people believe Mercury formed the group, it was Bruce Murray. The Hectics consisted of 5 boys. They were wearing tight trousers, pointy shoes and thin ties. The Hectics performed rock music at school events and girls loved them so much. According to the band members, their lead singer Mercury brought them fame. Farang Iranı told “He was the only real musician among us.”
